This weekend, we celebrate 35 years of B’rit Hadasha. We are getting together with leaders and members from throughout the years and telling the stories that celebrate G-d’s goodness to B’rit. There is going to be storytelling and reminiscing and worship to Him for all that He has done. Remembering and recalling G-d’s goodness is a important part of life — so much so that we see it commanded in the Torah.
What we do at each Passover Seder is retelling and recalling of G-d’s deliverance, provision, and grace to us. But even in that Passover Seder, there is more than looking back to the past. Think for a moment how the Seder ends… the Grand Finale, if you will… when we all say, “Next Year in Jerusalem!” Even in that time of commanded remembrance, we are casting our vision forward, to the future, in anticipation of the fulfillment of G-d’s promises.
So for this weekend, as we gather together to listen to one another share about how we’ve experienced G-d’s goodness over the years at, in, or for B’rit, remember that He is not done yet! Right now, He is pouring out His blessings on our community and we can’t wait to see what else He has in store. This is a time to celebrate what was, what is right now, and what is still to come — so come join us as we celebrate the goodness of our G-d and King!
